On April 15, 2026, Judge Benjamin Garagozlo submitted his resignation letter from the 18th Judicial Circuit, Group 8 effective December 31, 2026. Governor DeSantis has accepted his resignation, and pursuant to Article V, Section 11(b) of the Florida Constitution, the Governor will now fill by appointment the vacancy created by this resignation, and the position is no longer up for election during the 2026 election cycle. As a result, that race and the two announced candidates have been removed from the Brevard County Supervisor of Elections Candidate Listing for the 2026 election cycle.
